Mana Motuhake

Our vision: Orangatonutanga
Our vision is strengths-based, community-led, and centred on the people of Muriwhenua. We will revive and uphold values such as tika, pono, and aroha and shift away from deficit-based models toward approaches grounded in strength, potential, and possibility.
Our mission: Mana Motuhake
To be aspirational and action-focused, centred on manaakitanga, harm minimisation, and the wellbeing of whānau in Muriwhenua, while strengthening recovery and mana motuhake.
What to expect from Te Puarangi
Whanaungatanga and Connection
A Team focused on meeting the needs of people, establishing and maintaining positive relationships where there is no silence or shame, and embraces the mana of all people.
Healing through Te Ao Māori
Cultural practices, activities and programmes will bring diverse ideas together that link the past with the future. We will work together to undo the impacts of historical trauma to empower people.
Holistic Wellbeing
A comprehensive health approach with clinical and cultural practitioners and support will enhance the "whole person and their whānau " focusing on the balance across mental, physical, emotional, social and spiritual domains for wellbeing.
Whānau-Centred
Wellbeing is collective and interdependent, involving whānau first and in the recovery process requires immediate support and practical interventions to address methamphetamine use.

Te Hiku Hauora
Te Puarangi is a standalone kaupapa with its own voice and identity, while remaining connected to Te Hiku Hauora.
Te Hiku Hauora has a long history of working alongside whānau in Muriwhenua, and Te Puarangi builds on this foundation with a dedicated focus on meth harm reduction.
